I had a wonderful experience at The Sixth Floor Museum. It’s a powerful, well-curated museum filled with history that truly helps you understand the context and impact of the events surrounding JFK’s assassination. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, informative, and very moving without being overwhelming.

Had to visit this place for the history and conspiracies surrounding JFK's assassination.
Very nice museum with a ground floor center & gift shop/book shop.
I would recommend to budget about 1.5 to 2 hrs to really walk through the museum and read each area in its entirety.
Replica 6.5 carcano rifle is on display in the 6th floor corner / Oswalds' alleged location.

Ive been to the 6th floor 3 or 4 times now but this time was a bit different. There was no audio tour available which made experience so much less enjoyable. Everything now must be read which is fine, but there is so much reading and it all seems haphazardly placed so that you aren't quite sure where to start. Some of the captions to the pics are pretty small so you have to get up close to read

The museum was great! We went on Christmas Eve and it was surprisingly not dead.
Parking was $15! And like all museums it was pricey also, especially for big families. Museums should have homeschool discounts too.
Anyway we still went. And it was great. My Littles learned all they would get from a public school and more. My big kids got to find out more details than they could have hoped for.

This is a great self guided tour through the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, where Lee Harvey Oswald fired at John F Kennedy from. There are photos, recordings of speeches, and plenty of informative displays. My family and I really enjoyed it. We also took the Viator John F. Kennedy Trolley Tour, a half block away which was extremely informative an educational.

What a great experience for history buffs as well as children learning about JFK for the 1st time. How eerie it was looking out onto the plaza from the the 6th floor where Oswald made history. Tons of displays, photos, artifacts to look and listen to. Staff was very friendly. I went through in about an hour & a half, but you could figure 2 hours to see and read everything. I was there at 10:00 AM

1st time to Texas, and this was a must see for a history fan.
I have seen these buildings in the various documentaries about JFK, but to see the area was really great!
Museum has a lot of reading, and lots to see . It was a little slow moving, and my teenager was more engaged with the 3-4 videos shown in a mini theater area.
