I was surprised by McCoy's. I'm new to the area(sort of) and only knew of home depot.... the store was clean, the staff was helpful. I'll be back.

So... today, I went into my local McCoy's on padre Island Blvd in Brownsville. I had some romex, and cpvc we needed. We tried to get the sales clerk to help, but

Entered store and walked by 4 or 5 employees at service counter to get to hardware area behind them. No one acknowledged me or asked if I needed assistance. Found my own bolts, nut, and washers. Upon checking out, about 1/2 of the hardware rang up higher then what was marked. Manager did make the pricing correct but customer service was very disappointing.

When calling McCoy to check on a order, it take 30 -45 minutes for them to come back to the phone. Need to hang up to get them back to the phone.
Do you call that good customer service? After this order, never again will I go back! that's a promise!

They're usually pretty good @ keeping the paying line flowing but today was not their best day. Their credit card system was down & the cashier I got did not know how to do a call-in transaction. Spent 12 minutes xtra waiting & finally decided to pay cash cuz I was running late for work. Why not post a Step-by-Step instructions @ the register? Just sayin'....👍😉

Horrible customer service. Prices are slightly lower than Home Depot etc, but service sucks. Only thing was that they messed up and order, and delivered it and it was the wrong material so we had to go back and send it back and thankfully they gave us a refund. But all in all customer service is bad and it's not worth it.
