Alamo Hardwoods always have the best selection of hardwoods, although they are a bit higher on their prices. The quality is well worth the price and the service of their staff is an 11 out of 10. I tried a couple of other stores in town, but they didn’t have the material I needed for my project or not enough of it. PLEASE READ ALL, DON'T GET SCAMMED - PREDATORY PRICING: I've never seen worse prices in my life. $6bd/ft for 4/4 rough knotty alder and $9bd/ft for 4/4 rough red oak. Don't go here, you're getting scammed. Knotty alder goes for around $2bd/ft and red oak is usually $3bd/ft. Go literally anywhere else, these prices are purely an attempt to take advantage of people who don't know better.

My kids were in heaven here. The 11 year old wanted every piece of wood and wanted to grow every tree imaginable. We purchased wood for my eldest kid's 4H project and got to select our piece for less than it would have been at Lowe's even. My kid is so excited to add this special piece to her project. We will be back for future projects no doubt!

I came to this Location looking for GREAT QUALITY and something different from a Standard Hardwood store and I was NOT disappointed. It's the Best place EVER!!! I was Assisted by Tony, he IS totally Helpful, Informative and has AWESOME Customer Service skills. He didn't rush me, he took his time and answered ALL my questions. Incredible selection of hardwood. Found exactly what I wanted for my first project using their wood. Can't wait to dream up the next project knowing they'll have the wood I need. Mesquite live edge sofa table came out great! Thanks for the excellent slabs!

Great selection and easy setup. The price is on the piece of wood, that simple. No more hunting down an employee for quoting. They also cut the pieces if you don't need the whole board.

This place is amazing. The amount of different woods is surprising and the prices are decent. The staff assisted me find different species and dimensions that I needed.

A San Antonio treasure. They are totally about quality not quantity. Too bad we don't have more stores like this.
